Sampling all the best of the local beers of Wirral and Cheshire in a summertime farmyard al fresco setting is an opportunity too good to miss for real ale lovers.
The Spitting Feathers brewery based at Common Farm in Waverton near Chester will be showcasing over 30 beers from eight local breweries including their own at a food and ale festival to be held at the farm on Saturday July 14.
The ales of Wirral’s Brimstage, Betwixt, Northern Brewery, Station House of Ellesmere Port, Wheatwood ales, Woodland and WC Brewery of Mickle Trafford near Chester.
Spitting Feathers proprietor Matthew Walley said: “We’re hoping that the weather’s fine for what will be great day out for all the family. We want to promote all the diverse local ales that we have in wirral and Cheshire without making it just a tarde event or something for hard core real ale drinkers to appreciate. We want it to be laugh for everybody in an authentic farmyard setting.�
He said that Spitting Feathers would be four of their favourites: Honeytrap (made from honey gathered from bee hives on the farm); Old Wavertonian; Basket Case and Crocky Trail Ale.
All will be served with quality home grown produce. All profits from the day will be divvied up at the end of the day and the money given to local charities.
“It’s all about local producers giving something back to the local community,� added Mr Walley.
Entry for the afternon session lasting from 2pm to 6pm is £4 including glass is £4 including glass while the evening session costs £5 and lasts from 7pm until 11pm.
